Our Mission

Feed. Furnish. Gather.

Second Spark exists to turn everyday items into community impact. We believe that what one person no longer needs can become exactly what someone else is looking for — and that the act of reuse can ripple outward to feed, furnish, and gather our neighbors together.

Feed

12% of every dollar we earn goes directly to Second Spark Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides meals to people experiencing homelessness across Seattle. Every item you buy here helps put food on someone's table.

Furnish

Not everything we receive goes on our shelves. When we come across furniture, household essentials, and everyday items that families in crisis need most, we donate them directly to our charity partners:

• Union Gospel Mission
• YWCA
• Bellwether Housing
• Imagine Housing

These organizations help people transition into stable housing — and we help make sure their new home feels like home.

Gather

We host community give-away events at our Seattle location where anyone can come and take what they need. No applications, no income verification, no questions asked. Just neighbors helping neighbors.

Since our founding, Second Spark has:

• Diverted thousands of pounds of usable goods from landfills
